CALMA

Why CALMA Is More Than Just a Spanglish Podcast

An open letter for you, who arrived here searching for more than just answers

There are days when the world feels too loud. When everything moves too fast, demands too much, hurts too deeply. And maybe today was one of those days. Maybe you landed here by accident. Maybe someone shared this link with you. Or maybe you just typed “how to feel better” into the search bar… and here you are.

Let me tell you something right away: you don’t have to pretend to be anyone else here. You can breathe here. You can feel. You can just be.

What is CALMA?

CALMA is a space to talk about mental health, emotions, identity, community, and all the things we’re often told to keep quiet.
Yes, it’s a podcast. But it’s also a safe space. A place where stories matter, where no topic is off-limits, and where we believe that healing is not linear. It doesn’t have to be perfect either.

Here, we believe that feeling is an act of courage. That speaking in Spanglish is also a form of healing. That being your full, unfiltered self is the most powerful thing you can do.

What will you find here?

You’ll find episodes that talk honestly about anxiety, therapy, love, grief, family, and social pressure.
You’ll find guests who inspire, who challenge, who open their hearts.
And most importantly: you’ll find a community that loves you no matter what. A community that’s willing to listen, to protect you, to remind you that you are not alone.

Why does CALMA exist?

Because we grew up thinking that feeling was weakness. Because sometimes life hurts more than we know how to say out loud.
“Because being Latiné, queer, a woman, a man who’s taught he’s not allowed to feel, or being an immigrant — whatever you are and carry — deserves a space where you don’t have to explain yourself all the time.

CALMA was born out of a deep desire to create that space. A refuge. A digital hug. A community that doesn’t judge. That stays. That builds with you.

Thank you for being here

It doesn’t matter how you got here. What matters is that you’re here.
And that is enough.
Take what you need. Come back anytime.
There’s room for you here.

Con cariño y calma,
Angie
