The Mission Behind the Mic

A Safe Space for Latino Mental Health
If your family is anything like mine, we didn’t talk about emotions. Not really.
In fact, studies show that only 1 in 3 Latinos with mental illness receive treatment. Why? Because conversations about mental health in Latino families are often met with silence, stigma, or a nervous joke to change the subject.

Why Latino Mental Health Needs More Visibility
In the last decade, we’ve felt a cultural shift especially among younger generations of Latinos who are asking deeper questions.
Many of us are exploring our mental and emotional health for the first time. At the same time, we hold on to our cultural roots those beliefs and traditions passed down through generations that nourish and protect us.
Have You Ever Asked Yourself…
Why do I keep repeating the same patterns? Why can’t I control my anger? Is this relationship healthy? Am I really doing okay… or just surviving?

Healing as Resistance
We believe small, consistent shifts can lead to a collective transformation. One that breaks the silence and reshapes how our communities talk about healing.
Latinos in the U.S. and around the world face more than just internal struggles. We face fear, discrimination, displacement, and policies that threaten our dignity.
That’s why showing up for ourselves and each other is powerful. Because healing is resistance and when we care for our communities, we grow stronger together.
